Olfa Nasraoui, Professor, Computer Science and Computer Engineering Department, University of Louisville, email@example.com
Short bio: Olfa Nasraoui is a Professor in Computer Engineering and Computer Science, endowed Chair of e-commerce, and founding director of the Knowledge Discovery & Web Mining Lab (http:/webmining.spd.louisville.edu/) at the University of Louisville. Her research activities include data mining, in particular, Web mining, mining evolving data streams, Web personalization, and computational intelligence. Some of her past research, funded mainly by NSF, NASA, and KSEF, included mining images with coronal loops from solar image databases, developing an open source search engine-based recommender system for multiple websites, and new clustering algorithms based on robust statistics and evolutionary computation with applications to Web usage mining. Her recent research has resulted in a framework for tracking, validation, summarization and visualization of the cluster evolution in data streams, known as Stream-Dashboard, recently applied to weave stories out of the twitter data stream. Other recent contributions include developing new formulations of distributed and multi-domain clustering based on mutual semi-supervision and non-negative matrix factorization for multi-domain recommendation, improved clustering, information retrieval and annotation of diverse and multi-source data sets. She is the recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and is a member of ACM and a senior member of IEEE.
